Innovative
We are pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Dancraft Construction. Dancraft has completed two renovations for us in our current home and we could not be more pleased with the completed work.
Dancraft uses a pre-renovation planning process which puts all the involved parties on the same page in terms of design expectations, materials, cost and timeline for work completion. This cuts down on the need for changes as the work progresses. The resources of the client are carefully considered throughout this process, resulting in the best quality work for each individual situation. Communication between the company and the client continues in this fashion throughout the renovation, making for a clear, concise renovation project.
In our particular situation, an historic home made the renovations challenging. Dan Swank and his staff used the utmost in creativity to re-imagine the use of space in our home, making both renovations (kitchen and bath) very functional as well as historically accurate and simply beautiful. We have had many positive comments on both renovations from our friends and neighbors.
We cannot speak highly enough of the workers who became part of our daily life for five weeks. They have been talented, motivated, pleasant, flexible and trustworthy. The are considerate and make the extra effort to minimize the effects of renovation for the family.
Since the two projects in our home have been ten years apart, we can attest to the value of Dancraft renovations. In those ten years, we have not needed any further work or repairs in our kitchen and it looks as beautiful as the day it was finished. We expect the same to be true of our just completed bathroom renovation, because that’s the Dancraft product.
Sincerely,
Craig and Mary Kay Allen

Dear Dan,
I just wanted to put into words the incredible satisfaction we have with our new Dancraft kitchen.
As you remember, my old kitchen was very small and poorly designed — installed by a handyman homeowner. It looked nice but was not very efficient. The traffic pattern was terrible. We were always bumping into each other.
When we decided to update, we contacted Dancraft. You talked to us for a couple hours, getting to know us, and our needs. Through out the process, you were never pushy. You always provided us with options, and were very considerate about our budget.
One of your best recommendations was to ask an interior designer for help. You arranged for one to visit with us — what a great experience! Working with the interior designer, you developed a plan with a detailed estimate. You even gave us a written schedule, and always kept us informed of the project’s progress.
The project went smoothly. Your crew worked to keep dust and disruption to a minimum, and cleaned up every day. Your people were kind, courteous and trustworthy.
If I had another project, I’d call you again in an instant. In fact, I recommended you to a neighbor, and you’ve already completed three projects for them!
Sincerely,
P.J. Baughman
Creative
Dan,
We want you to know how much we are enjoying our remodeled master bath.
We are completely satisfied with every phase of the improvement.
We are particularly impressed with the Design-Build Dancraft team of both staff and subcontractors, including:
- The initial discussions with Dan which included suggestions to make our bathroom handicap accessible.
- The re-design of the bathroom which included methods to create more space and make the room larger.
- The assistance of Interior Decorator Jan Miller relating to recommendations for interior colors and accessories.
- The unique design of the custom built cabinets to maximize drawer space.
- Knowledgeable craftsmen and the care which each exerted to protect the surroundings and minimize disruption.
- The outstanding construction expertise of Daniel McGorry and his attention to every detail.
- The project cost remained within the original estimate except for additional work requested by us during remodeling.
We cannot be more pleased with our beautiful finished bathroom.
Thank you for the way the improvement progressed from initiation through completion.
Sincerely,
Arthur and Gail Haddad
Above and Beyond
Dear Dan,
I just wanted to send a quick note to say thank you very much for the window repair work you all recently did for my wife and I.
The work was done well, effectively and in a very timely fashion. All of your people, from the office to the installer/technician, were friendly, more than competent and thorough in their work. Further, we were just wowed when the final project cost came in 35% below the contracted price due to “above and beyond” effort put in by your organization relating to the original window manufacturer’s product warranty. This was a welcome surprise and frankly, a rare experience.
As I’m sure you know, it is often difficult to find serious contractors who are willing to attend to these repair-oriented sorts of projects; but you and your people seem to give our project the same attention and priority that many would reserve only for larger jobs. Please know, it is much appreciated.
We will not hesitate to call on Dancraft for our future construction needs and will happily recommend you to our friends. We will know that we are doing them a favor. Again, thank you!
Sincerely,
Steven S. Matthews
Listened
Dear Dan,
In your promotional materials, you urge people to “discover the Dancraft difference.”
Having completed a major kitchen renovation, I have personally discovered the “Dancraft Difference” firsthand…
You Listen.
So many service businesses – including home contractors – are good at talking to customers: “You need to do this” or “If I were you, here’s what I’d do.”
But you and your crew took the time to listen to us. You heard our desire to be true to our 100-year-old home, and preserve the existing windows and original wood floors. You asked all the right questions, all with idea of giving me what I truly wanted.
Here’s another meaningful example of how you and your crew listened: I wanted to prepare my traditional Thanksgiving dinner in my kitchen, even though the holiday was in the middle of the renovation. Your people took the time and effort to make sure I had a stove and adequate counter space for Thanksgiving.
You and your people go to extremes to make sure the customer is happy. For instance, you took great pains to contain dust and dirt, and keep disruption to a minimum.
From our very first meeting to final clean up, it seemed everyone was focused on listening to my wishes and ensuring my complete satisfaction. The result — I love my new kitchen!
Sincerely,
Shawn Frauenberger
Reliable
THANK YOU! We wanted to send you a letter to show how much we appreciated the work that you and your team did on our home.
We noticed that we had a leak in our bathroom, and we thought to call Dan Swank, of Dancraft Construction, who Joan knows through his involvement with the Troy Area Chamber of Commerce. Dan promptly made an appointment to come over and give us an estimate on the project. He arrived exactly on time, and immediately determined that we had wear on the outside of the roof. He recommended that we replace the roof, however, due to budget restraints, we were unable to completely replace the roof. Dan understood, did not try to force the issue, and recommended a fix that will get us through the next year. We went ahead and decided to schedule the work and Dan assured us that he would get to it within a week. He called in just a couple of days, scheduled the work for Monday morning, and when we arrived home from work on Monday evening, the work was completed. Dan called the next day and fully explained everything that they had done on the job. He even commented that the roof damage was more extensive than he had anticipated, but told us he would stay with his original estimate.
Dan and his team were very efficient in the work completed. When next summer comes around, we will not even consider any other home improvement company other then Dancraft Construction to complete the work on replacing the entire roof, or any other home improvement that we may need in the future.
Thank you Dan!
