Cullis Room Addition
The home was built on a land grant section of 160 acres that is believed to be part of the under-ground Railroad. The modest original 1852 section has a stone foundation basement, kitchen and den on the main level, and two bedrooms above. The more elegant 1857 Federal Style street side addition (current dining and living rooms and 2 additional bedrooms) became the front of the house.

Eberly Addition
When Ken and Jane Eberly met with Dancraft, they described their need for a place away from the family’s hustle and bustle, yet close enough to stay connected. Their vision was of a sun-filled room, a quiet area that would be linked to the woods outside. The solution to their needs was a sun-filled room addition, built just off the dining nook/ kitchen. This location allowed the room to be nestled into the wooded landscape on the West of their property. The effect of light in the space was one of the main considerations: the western sun would filter through the mature trees, creating a soft dappled light in the room.

Wingert Home Remodel
When Dancraft Construction started the renovation of the Wingert Home, the creative challenge was to make areas LOOK like they had never been remodeled. The intent was not to be a historical purist, but to retain the feeling and blend with the original house (1898). Dancraft felt it would improve structural integrity by demolishing the one story section which included the kitchen, bathroom, side porch and stairwell to the second floor. The result of this renovation is that only one room was left untouched, the music room. The large addition was like adding a home to a home. The addition basement also tied into the existing stone basement.
