Supporting Our Community

With a leader so involved in volunteerism on a personal level, Dancraft owner Dan Swank makes sure his business is a positive corporate citizen as well. With great community pride, Dancraft Construction was involved in the development of Troy Community Works, a non-profit organization devoted to making Troy, Ohio, a better place to live, work and grow. It’s four main goals are:

  1. Strengthening neighborhoods
  2. Preserving historic buildings and districts
  3. Redeveloping aging and unused buildings
  4. Promoting home ownership to all income levels.

Our staff is active in the organization’s “Make A Difference Day “each year, as well as being a supporter for the event. In 2010 we held a raffle for all volunteer workers. We donated $200 to the charity of the winners choice and we also donated a gift certificate of $200 for Dancraft to work on the winner’s home. And the amazing support from within the community was demonstrated when the individual who won the raffle donated his gift certificate to the Museum of Troy History, located at 124 East Water Street, in Troy.

Partners In Hope is a coalition of 17 churches in Troy helping the frail elderly and also people struggling to take care of themselves or their families. When Partners In Hope was in transition in 2003, Dan Swank served as Chairman of the Board, leading the transformation from a director-driven organization to a board-driven organization.

Dan also led the renovation of the new space when Partners In Hope moved to a new location. Our staff provided free project management, as well as providing low cost material and labor, keeping the renovation cost within a budget and allowing the project to move forward. With the assistance of Parker Behm, and other volunteers from Partners In Hope, we transformed the old First United Methodist Church parsonage into office and intake areas that have served the community well.

They are thriving today and would love your support: http://www.partnersinhopeinc.org
