Our Team

Dan L. Swank, President and CEO
Dan is passionate about creating the best team to deliver extraordinary service to our clients. Raised in rural Ohio, a young Dan worked for his father’s remodeling company after school in the evenings, on weekends and summers, when child labor laws had not come of age. He was running a crew by age 12.

Dan attended the Ohio State University with a 3-part major of political science, sociology and psychology. He was then mentored and tutored in fine furniture and cabinet-making, as well as finish carpentry by Earl Richards, a master cabinet maker known for unsurpassed excellence in the Miami Valley. In 1978, he became a Union Carpenter in Colorado. Having the privilege to work in Ohio, Florida, Colorado, Illinois and Hawaii in residential remodeling, Dan has an excellent understanding of the geographical and climate challenges of various regions. He has had up to 30 employees with a large stable of sub-contractors for new home construction, residential and light commercial remodeling, concrete forming and mall maintenance.
Dan is a believer in continual improvement, both in hands-on learning and courses on such topics as Time Management, Architectural Energy Analysis, Mold, Lead Training, PV System Design & Installation, Photovoltaic technical and business training.

An avid proponent of energy-efficiency, Dan recently joined forces with Leib Lurie of One Call Now, Dan Rudolph of Net0Homes, Kevin P. Hallinan, Ph.D., Professor, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering / Renewable and Clean Energy at the University of Dayton, to create 2 for 1 Energy, an energy efficiency company with an online audit that shows renters and home owners how to save energy and money in their specific homes.

Dan has been involved in many volunteer organizations, in addition to Miami Valley NARI (National Association of the Remodeling Industry)—his volunteer work includes being 2004 Chairman of the Board of Partners in Hope in Troy, overseeing 150 volunteers and spearheading a major organizational restructure. He also served on the board of the Miami Valley Episcopal Russian Network and envisioned and led the Southern Ohio Coalition for Middle East Peace. Dan also served on the board of El Puente in Costa Rica (for indigenous Bribri) and worked with Palestinian Christians creating business opportunities after the 2000 Intifada. Dan is currently an active supporting member of the Dayton Peace Museum’s Fearless 50 Club and the Maji Mazuri Center for handicapped and abandoned children in Kenya.

Dan and his wife Joan continue to travel extensively nationally and internationally and are active members of Trinity Episcopal Church of Troy.

Jan has degrees in Business Management and Interior Design, and brings many years of customer service and purchasing expertise in addition to interior design experience. She is an Allied member of the American Society of Interior Designers.
When you call our office, it’s Jan’s friendly voice you’ll most likely hear. In her Interior Designer role, she helps clients with space planning and selections that add beauty and functionality to their homes.

Jan enjoys the everyday beauty of nature and loves to be outdoors. She enjoys camping, hiking and bike riding. Her love for animals is shown in her many animal rescues, as she is always stopping along the road to pick up lost dogs, either driving them home to their owners or to the shelter. For 10 years Jan volunteered as an Adoption Counselor for The Society for the Improvement and Conditions of Stray Animals, matching pets and owners and educating people on responsible pet ownership. While volunteering one day, Jan took home an abused unadoptable puppy named Riley to work with and make adoptable. Ten years later Riley still lives with Jan.
